Manetame Complete Information

Manetame contains:

5-Amino-1,3-bis(2-ethylhexl)hexahydro-5-methylpyrimidine Aqua, biodegradable and cosmetic grade chelating agents, water softeners, foaming agents, anionic, cationic, non ionic, germicidal surfactants, preservatives, Fragrance, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, colouring agent.

How does Manetame work?

Manetame is a water soluble liquid, containing powerful wetting and cleansing agents and a potent cationic antibacterial. Manetame reduces the surface tension of the water allowing it to penetrate into the small crevices in the skin and hair shaft. The cleansing agents rid the skin surface of debris and help clear the hair follicles.

Grease and oil quickly eliminated

Manetame is able to mix with and dissolve oil and grease. Manetame cleans by stripping sebum from the coat. Sebum is an oil secreted by hair follicles which is readily absorbed  by the strands of hair, and forms a protective layer. Sebum protects the protein structure of hair from damage, but this protection tends to collect dirt, debris and flakes. The wetting agents in Mantame strip the sebum from the hair shafts and remove the dirt attached to them. No matter whether using hard or soft water Manetame will lather and foam. Foaming is the 'lifting' action, which allows Manetame to carry away the dirt after rinsing. Without this “lifting action” rinsing would be almost impossible.

Manetame maintains the coat, removing oil and dirt and completely. It also ensures there is no damage to the skin and hair whilst dirt and debris are being removed.  Manetame is formulated specifically to break the oil into tiny droplets which can be easily washed away, and at the same time dissolve and carry away dirt particles.   It is very important to maintain the health of the skin. It protects the animal by its ability to maintain homeostasis. Skin retains moisture and regulates temperature and excludes harmful organisms and chemicals. It generates immune responses to invasive organisms and protect against solar damage. The function of the skin as an immune organ is one that has only been recently understood. Other compounds in  Manetame  control the cleansing function of the unique formula ensuring that the hair does not become too alkaline or too acidic. Both conditions can cause undue damage to the coat.

How do I apply  Manetame?

Here are some tips to make using  Manetame  easier and more effective:
  • Brush the mane and tail before applying. Apply Manetame liberally at the base of the mane and tail, working the lather out to the entire length of hair.
  • If you are shampooing the whole animal thoroughly wet it all over. If you are only shampooing a portion of the animal (e.g. leg) make sure the area is thoroughly wet.
  • If you are treating a minor skin condition of a long haired animal clip the coat first to the allow  Manetame  to penetrate.
  • Clipping leads to a more effective application and better distribution of the active ingredients of Manetame.
  • The wetter the coat the easier it is to use  Manetame. If necessary add a small amount of  Manetame as this breaks down the surface tension caused by the grease on the skin and allows Manetame to penetrate to the skin where it is needed.
  • Use a sponge to apply Manetame. Pouring Manetame down the back of the animal is wasteful. It is only necessary to use a small amount of  Manetame  as it is highly concentrated and has extra foaming properties.
  • To lather up always add more water before you add Manetame.
  • Apply Manetame solution with a sponge and massage until a rich lather appears.
  • Let lather remain on hair for several minutes. Rub Manetame lather (using the sponge) all over the affected area or if you are cleaning the whole animal do not forget around the muzzle, lips and under the tail. These are the areas from which bacteria and fungus spread. They are common causes of infection.
  •  Give Manetame time to work
  • It is important to allow Manetame time for it to work as this allows the active ingredients to be properly absorbed and reach adequate levels throughout the coat. As a general rule, 5-10 minutes is required.
  • Rinse thoroughly. It takes time to get rid of all the  Manetame  from the coat, sometimes up to 5 minutes is required in long haired animals. Rinse until water runs clear.  Rinsing also enables the skin to rehydrate.
  • To achieve the best cleansing, anti fungal and insect repellent, lather a second time, leave for a further 5 minutes and then rinse.

If you are sensitive to detergents or have hand dermatitis, wear gloves when using Manetame.

How often should the animal be washed?

It depends whether the animal has a healthy coat and skin, has been working hard, is dirty or has a skin condition.   If treating a skin condition  Manetame may be applied several times a week for up to 2 weeks. The frequency of application  can then be reduced to give the longest interval over which treatment is still effective.  If the animal has healthy skin use  Manetame  whenever desired to rehydrate the skin or clean the animal.  Manetame  can be  used frequently.
